For G.Comm, ALTA developed the medical examination lamp through a complete design and engineering process. The project included the industrial design of the lamp head and the mechanical engineering of the articulated support system, including the arms, support arc, joints, hidden fastening points, cable routing, and rotation mechanisms.

Several concepts were developed and refined during the different design phases. Particular attention was given to the support arc, which was redesigned to improve structural rigidity, ergonomics, and manufacturability while preserving the required three-axis movement. The final solution combined aluminium extrusions, metal joints, spring-assisted balancing, adjustable friction systems, and carefully integrated covers to protect the moving areas and create a cleaner appearance.

ALTA’s work focused on balancing technical reliability, ease of movement, user comfort, and a refined visual identity suitable for medical and dental environments.
