GALIT - Dental Unit Parts
For this project, we supported GALIT in preparing plastic components for efficient, high-quality injection molding and serial production. Our role focused exclusively on manufacturing engineering and Design for Manufacturing (DFM), ensuring the customer’s design could be produced reliably while meeting quality and tooling requirements.
Working closely with the customer and the mold manufacturer, we carried out comprehensive DFM analyses covering parting lines, runner and gate configuration, draft angles, wall thickness distribution, sink mark prevention, shrinkage behavior, ejection systems, and surface finishing. Based on these evaluations, manufacturing-oriented CAD refinements were implemented to improve moldability, cooling efficiency, dimensional stability, and overall production robustness without altering the product’s functional design. These activities are reflected throughout the DFM documentation for the project.
Throughout the tooling development phase, we collaborated with the mold manufacturer to validate production feasibility, optimize injection molding performance, and support the transition from design to repeatable mass production.
