The BioLevitator was developed in collaboration with Hamilton Bonaduz AG (Switzerland) and Global Cell Solutions (USA) as the first benchtop incubator for three-dimensional cell culture based on magnetic levitation technology.

ALTA provided complete industrial design, user interface development, mechanical engineering, and production support, creating a laboratory instrument that combines advanced functionality with intuitive operation and a distinctive product identity.

The engineering focused on manufacturable injection-molded components, robust enclosure architecture, ergonomic interaction, and reliable assembly for high-volume production.

The BioLevitator was selected as one of The Scientist Magazine’s Top 10 Innovations of 2009, recognizing its impact on life science research and laboratory technology.
