For Dragon Laboratory Instruments Ltd, ALTA designed and pre-engineered dPette, a compact electronic pipette combining the familiar handling of a manual pipette with the precision and effortless operation of an electronic system.

The design development focused on creating a lightweight, ergonomic and well-balanced instrument suitable for comfortable use during repetitive laboratory tasks. Particular attention was given to the shape and proportions of the handheld body, the integration of the digital display and controls, and clear access to the main operating functions.

ALTA translated the product’s technical components, including the motorized pipetting system, rechargeable battery and electronic interface, into a compact and coherent enclosure. The pre-engineering phase refined the product architecture, component integration, assembly strategy and manufacturability while maintaining the slim profile required for precise and fatigue-free handling.

The resulting design gives dPette a distinctive and professional identity while combining intuitive operation, compact dimensions and reliable performance for everyday laboratory use
