For Dragon Laboratory Instruments Ltd, ALTA designed the SP-V1000, a visible spectrophotometer developed for routine photometric and quantitative analysis in professional laboratories.

The industrial design focused on translating the instrument’s optical and electronic components into a compact, organized and recognizable benchtop product. The enclosure clearly separates the sample chamber from the operating area while integrating the LCD display, control keypad, sample-handling mechanism and connection interfaces within a coherent architecture.

Particular attention was given to usability and information visibility. The clearly arranged front interface provides direct access to wavelength settings, measurement modes, calibration and stored data, while the sample chamber remains conveniently accessible during repeated testing procedures.

Operating across a wavelength range of 325–1,000 nm, the SP-V1000 supports absorbance, transmittance and quantitative measurements. The resulting design combines functional clarity, reliable laboratory performance and a professional identity consistent with DLAB’s spectrophotometer range.
