For Socorex Isba SA, ALTA developed the industrial design and pre-engineering of the Ultra 1810, a new generation of automatic self-refilling syringes for precise micro-volume injections in animal-health applications.

The project began with an extensive analysis of user needs, existing products and the previous Socorex syringe. ALTA explored seven concept directions, studying different ergonomic configurations, operating mechanisms, volume-adjustment systems and product architectures.

The design development focused on improving comfort during repetitive injections while reducing weight and the distance between the operator’s hand and the needle. Particular attention was also given to dose visibility, easy priming, cleaning and disassembly, as well as compatibility with interchangeable tube- and vial-feeding accessories.

The resulting design combines Socorex’s recognizable technical identity with a lightweight, robust and highly serviceable construction. Its ergonomic handling, precise volume adjustment and modular configuration make the Ultra 1810 suitable for applications involving fish, poultry and other small animals.
